Screening and assay development remains one of the most challenging and resource-intensive steps in the drug discovery process, with the end result depending on proper balance of assays, experimental design, and data management. Bio-OPT provide a broad spectrum of high quality service to support the various stages of drug discovery and development. With state-of-the-art facilities and instrumentation, we offer services in cell based assay formats for compound profiling and safety assesment.

Assay Development and Compound Profiling

Bio-OPT use a number of primary and immortalized cell lines to assay test compounds. We have over 52 validated in vitro cellular assays targeting various therapeutic areas using specialized assay technologies based on different detection platforms like absorbance (Colorimetric, ELISA), Luminescence and Fluorescence(Fluorescence Intensity, Fluorescence Polarization, Time Resolved Fluorescence) in 6, 24, 48, 96 and 384 well plate formats. Using these assays, compounds can be rapidly and cost effectively screened for activity prior to more expensive and time consuming animal studies.

In Vitro Safety Assessment

Safety assessment is an important criterion for compound development before expensive clinical studies are performed. In order to predict Genotoxicity or specific cellular impacts, Bio-OPT provides in vitro genotoxicity tests including; Ames test, Chromosomal Aberration test, Micronucleus test, Skin Corrosion test, Mouse Lymphoma Assay and many more.

All work is carried out under well-defined standard operating procedures (SOPs) by highly qualified scientists. In vitro toxicity studies are also be conducted in regulation with OECD GLP principles.
